This was our first Adult Short Story Competition.
We were delighted to host an open reading in John Adam’s Collimore The Artist’s House. We were joined by several local writers including Gerry O Donovan and Brian Coughlan from Galway who read from his newly published collection of short stories ‘Wattle and Daub’.
The afternoon finished with the reading of our placed authors in this year’s short story competition.
Rory Duffy from Athlone took 3rd place, Elaine Hogan took 2nd and Paidi O Maoláin took the coveted first place.
Elaine and Paidi joined us to read their very contrasting interpretations of the Out of the Fog theme. Many thanks to our judges Deirdre O Shaughnessy and Lindsey Woods for all their hard work and to our sponsors Michael Carlin and Cobh Credit Union. Also thanks to John Adams for the use of his amazing venue. All stories submitted will be published in our festival collection during the summer. Looking forward to next year already!
